About Dr. Friendship® aka Carol Scibelli

Carol Scibelli has been publishing her humor articles since 1987. She had several regular humor columns in weekly publications. (The Queens Tribune, The Fire Island Tide, etc) and in 1992 she won first prize in The Writer’s Forum’s Erma Bombeck Imitation Contest.
In 1996, 1999, 2000 and 2002 she won the Long Island Press Club Awardfor humor. She has written and recorded radio commercials and writes parody songs and routines for comedians. Her humor is published often in Newsdayby assignment and has appeared numerous times in The New York Timesand The Asbury Park Pressin New Jersey.
Her advise column Dear Dr. Friendshipran EVERY Sunday in The Hartford Courantin Connecticut. Carol is a member of the Society for Professional Journalistsand she writes and performs in the Press Club of Long Island’s Media Shows.
Carol has been a guest on over 75 radio shows throughout the country as Dr. Friendship and has performed her humorous articles at Stand-up New York Comedy Club.
She is a proud Resident Professional member of The New York Friars Club since 1998 where she is a contributor to their distinguished and widely read Friars’ Epistle. She has performed at several Friar Club events with Comedians Freddie Roman and Dick Capri and with TV game show legend Chuck Barris.
Carol is a founding member and Director of Programs for the nonprofit Manhattan Playwrights, Inc. (www.manhattanplaywrights.com) and has written many short plays for their festivals.
Carol co-wrote a one woman show My Sister’s Keeper based on a bittersweet and darkly funny story of a firefighter killed on September 11, 2001. It showcased for 12 scheduled appearances at the prestigious McGinn/Cazale Theatre on West 76th Street.
